From Manila to Boracay
When taking a trip to Boracay you will have two (2) airport choices, however neither airport is located on Boracay Island. When choosing your Boracay Airport you can choose either the Caticlan Domestic Airport or the Kalibo International Airport, both are located on Panay Island, which is a province of Malay, Aklan Philippines. The flight time from Manila to Caticlan or Kalibo can be anywhere from 45 minutes to one hour, from take-off to landing, so there is really no difference in flight times.
Caticlan is a very small provincial town that is separated from Boracay Island by the Tabon Strait. Caticlan is located about fifteen (15) minutes from the southern most tip of Boracay Island, traveling by banca boat. From Manila to Boracay the flight time is anywhere between 45 to 55 minutes, this is not taking into account you check-in and baggage claim time, which combined can add an additional 30 minutes to one hour to your travel time.
Keep in mind that all planes flying into and out of the Caticlan Airport are the smaller propeller type planes, they can be noisy and bumpy so if these planes make you nervous you may want to consider the flights to Kalibo.

From the Caticlan Airport to Boracay Island
Once you arrive at the Caticlan Airport you will meet your pre-arranged transfer company staff member, they will escort you to the Caticlan Jetty Port where you will board a medium to large sized "Banca" an out rigger boat, you will put on a life jacket and then proceed across the Tabon Strait to the jetty port on Boracay Island which is located at Cagban Beach.
Now there are a few resorts in Boracay that have their own jetty ports and their own private speed boats, so depending on which Boracay resort you book, will determine how you are transferred over the water, but don't worry, prior to completing your booking we will instruct you on this.
From Cagban Beach to Your Boracay Hotel
Once you arrive at the Cagban Beach Jetty Port on Boracay Island you will need to pay a port fee and an environmental fee, unless you book with WOW Philippines Travel Agency, then we pay this in advance for you, it speeds thing along.
- Total fight time from Manila to Caticlan, 60 minutes.
- Total time from Caticlan to Boracay, 15 minutes.
- Total transfer time on Boracay Island, 30 minutes.
TOTAL TRAVEL TIME -> 1.75 Hours Approximately.
Kalibo is a larger provincial town also located on Panay Island and is separated from the town of Caticlan by a 1.5 hour bus or van ride. The flight from Manila to Kalibo is roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour, since this is a large jet plane the air travel time is about the same as that of Manila to Caticlan.

Once you arrive at the Kalibo International Airport you will be greeted by one of our staff waiting for you just after the baggage claim area. From here we will proceed across the street to a waiting van or tour bus, which you will board for your 1 to 1.5 hour ride to Caticlan.
The route is quite scenic and interesting, for many foreign tourist this is a fantastic opportunity to see what life is like in the provincial areas, you will see rice farms, provincial schools and native homes built from bamboo, very exciting.
Arrival to Caticlan
Once you arrive in Caticlan you will be met by another of our helpful guides, taking you directly to the Caticlan Jetty Port where you will board a banca boat for a refreshing ride across the Tabon Strait to the jetty port on Boracay Island.
- Total fight time from Manila to Kalibo, 50 minutes.
- Total time from Kalibo to Caticlan, 90 minutes.
- Total transfer time from Caticlan to Cagban Beach on Boracay Island, 15 minutes.
- Total transfer time from Cagban Jetty Port to your Boracay hotel 30 minutes.
Although this route to Boracay is longer, there is an up side, your airline ticket prices are generally at least half the cost of the tickets for Caticlan.
